Let there be light…

Our power came on at about 6pm yesterday after almost 30 hours. High winds, as usual, were to blame. We don’t lose power often, but we’re usually prepared to whenever they call for high winds.

Our house is heated with wood, so we can stay warm, but that’s about it. No lights, no stove. I can work on my laptop for a couple hours on the battery, but can’t connect to the internet. Our neighbor has a gravity water feed into her basement, so we were able to get water for the animals. The freezer seems to have stayed cold enough that nothing thawed and there wasn’t anything in the fridge that was spoiled by getting warm. Yesterday afternoon, I took my laptop to the library and worked. If only the library had a shower!
