12 below this morning!  Isn’t it still officially fall??

There’s a deep bedding of hay in the barns this time of year, but we keep an eye out for any alpaca that might be shivering. Typically, they do just fine in the cold as long as they can get out of the wind. This year, we have a couple of thin females that we’re watching. We can put coats on them, if necessary. So far, so good.

Our dogs just love the cold and snow!  They have more energy this time of year than any other, especially Cutler, the Corgi. He has such a thick coat, he’s usually too warm.

I, on the other hand, need to get acclimated!  This old farmhouse is NOT warm in the morning! It takes a while to get the fire stoked and for it to start warming up the house.
