Just a quick wrap-up of the fall alpaca shows…Snowshoe Aristides outdid himself once again! His fleece was entered in two fall shows. At the Green Mountain Alpaca Fall Spectacular, Aristides’ fleece won the blue ribbon, Color Champion, Judges’ Choice and Spirit of the Industry Award. At the Empire Alpaca Extravaganza, his fleece won the blue ribbon, Reserve Color Champion and Judges’ Choice. Keep in mind that Aristides is five years old! Not bad for a geezer….
Yes, we did also have a few females in the halter classes. We’re particularly proud of Skye Snow, a boarder at our farm, who won a fourth place ribbon at both shows in a VERY competitive field. The shows might not be as large as they once were, but the quality of the alpacas in the ring is truly amazing.
