AOA National Auction and Show

0

The alpaca spring show season is starting early this year – in winter, actually – with the AOA National Conference which will be held in Harrisburg on March 14 – 16.

We decided to make the most of the long drive to PA and participate not only in the show, but also in the auction and herdsire auction.

Ammonoosuc and Applejack

We will be bringing two juvenile males to show.  Snowshoe Ammonoosuc is a full brother to our multi-champion, Snowshoe Aristides and he is looking good.  Ammo has very fine fiber with well defined architecture. He’s a carbon copy of his big brother and we’re loving that!

Snowshoe Applejack is a great looking fawn male sired by Alberta Clipper. Clipper is an older male that we co-own with Cas-Cad-Nac Farm. Clipper has not done a great deal of breeding due to some downtime caused by p tenuis. In spite of the lingering lameness in his rear legs, Clipper has proven ready and able to breed. The two show boys are currently in full lead training mode and doing well. We’ll see…

Snowshoe Ginger

Our choice for the auction is a lovely fawn female, Snowshoe Ginger, sired by Snowshoe Aristides. Ginger has beautiful fine and crimpy fiber. She performed well in the show ring last year. Even though Ginger could easily play an important role in our breeding program, we still have her dam, sire and full sister. She will be an asset to the winning bidder. The complete AOA National Auction catalog is now online.

Last but not least, we will once again be bringing Snowshoe Aristides to the show. Not to show, but to participate in the Herdsire Auction. All proceeds from this auction go towards AOA’s marketing program. This auction represents an opportunity to bid on breedings to some of the best herdsires in the country. You can see the list of available herdsires here.

With just a little over a week left before we head to PA, we’re busy organizing our display items, marketing materials and show paperwork. All we really need now is for Mother Nature to cooperate and spare us a late winter snow storm for the trip.

Please stop by and visit with us if you make it down to Harrisburg!
