Mud Season

2

We had several lovely warm, sunny days last week…and we’re paying for it. Our road is the worst we’ve seen in years. The path down to our compost pile – where we haul manure every day – is almost impassable. We still have at least a couple feet of snow on the ground, so things won’t dry out soon. And the best news…there’s a winter storm warning for this afternoon and evening. The forecast is for up to 8″ of snow!  Ron is NOT happy.

The photo below shows the road to our farm AFTER the town closed it and added gravel to make it passable. There’s really no fix for the roads until the mud dries up. We have a few more weeks to go…

My road looks like this too…maybe worse. Town truck came to gravel and grade yesterday, but today you can hardly tell. I’m ready for it all to be over too 🙂

Well now it’s all covered over with a new layer of snow. Just what we need!
