Herd Health Day

1

For some reason (insanity?) I was looking forward to a spring-like weekend. I mean, the forecast didn’t sound THAT bad…

But when the town plow wakes you up at 6:30 am, you know the weather is not going to meet your expectations. We picked up about 3 fluffy inches last night and the snow continued all day today. And the wind picked up. And the temps stayed right around freezing. But we had a toenail clipping party planned, so we spent the afternoon in the barn. For some reason, we seem to manage OK in below-zero temps during the winter, but I was chilled to the bone today.

Many thanks to Larry Rine from Twilight Ridge Farm for acting as chief alpaca handler today. Nothing like a very pregnant and not very pleasant 240 lb alpaca to keep you on your toes! Not that we have any alpacas like that here….

Like! Love!! You don’t get cold because your barns are SO warm, in more ways than one!! But yes, it was cold today…we didn’t get the snow, but it was chillin’ to the bone. I’m done with it!!! Spring can get here any time now!! Tomorrow, please!
