Being a Farmer Includes Multiple Jobs

If there’s one thing we’ve learned through our years of farming, it’s that the more you can do on your own, the better off you are. And the more money you’ll save!

I’m always thankful that Ron has better-than-average carpentry skills, is good with running and doing some basic maintenance on our equipment and has become proficient at several farm-specific tasks such as shearing and fencing. I can’t imagine how we would fare if we had to hire someone to take care of every little repair, not to mention building barns and fencing our fields!

This year we had a long and mild fall and Ron finished up his off-farm jobs early enough to get some work done on our long list of projects. It feels good to be able to check off a few items on the “to-do” list!
