Last week we delivered 5 geldings to their new home on an island on Lake Champlain. The boys loaded onto the boat fairly easily, though they were a bit bug-eyed on the ride. They’ve never seen water other than that in their water buckets! But they were calm, unloaded without a fuss and let us lead them to the barn – where there awaited another surprise (for the alpacas) – goats! Too many new experiences in one day! But they settled in quickly and by the time we left, they were grazing contentedly in their new pasture.
