Alpaca Shows – Spring 2019

2

It’s that time again! It doesn’t look much like spring in snowbound northern Vermont, but we’re making plans and packing up to head to our first alpaca shows of 2019 next week. Time to dig the “show box” out from the barn, update our website and work on printed materials such as stall signs and flyers.

In one busy weekend – April 6 & 7 – we’ll compete in both the North American and Northeast alpacas shows. Both events will be held at the Eastern States Exposition in W Springfield, MA. We always look forward to seeing our alpaca friends – and meeting new ones – at this annual event.

Last year we missed competing in the fall alpaca shows because we sold the three young alpacas that would have made up our show string. As a result, we’ll have a small presence this year, too – just one juvenile male, Snowshoe Inferno.

We really like this like this young male. His dam is Spirit Wind’s Minuette, a daughter of Xanadu P Concerto. His sire is El Dorado Prospector, a male that Spirit Wind Farm chose specifically to breed with their Concerto offspring. So far, Inferno is looking great!

Before the last big snowstorm, I caught some pictures of Ron working on lead training Inferno. He’s doing OK, but he has his own ideas about how this should work. The alpaca shows should be interesting….

We hope to see you there!
