The new year is barely underway and it’s already time to start registering for the spring alpaca shows. This year the AOBA National Conference will be held in Harrisburg, PA and that’s a lot closer to home than usual for nationals. So how can we NOT go to this show, even though we risk having…
Just a quick wrap-up of the fall alpaca shows…Snowshoe Aristides outdid himself once again! His fleece was entered in two fall shows. At the Green Mountain Alpaca Fall Spectacular, Aristides’ fleece won the blue ribbon, Color Champion, Judges’ Choice and Spirit of the Industry Award. At the Empire Alpaca Extravaganza, his fleece won the blue…
Seems like we just finished up with spring shows! Where did summer go?? We finally managed to complete our registrations for the upcoming fall alpaca shows. Snowshoe Farm will be attending both the Green Mountain Alpacas Fall Spectacular on Oct 19 & 20 and the Empire Alpaca Extravaganza on Oct 26 & 27. We (Ron, actually)…
This coming weekend (September 28 & 29) will bring the 25th Annual Vermont Sheep & Wool Festival. This is the kickoff to our very busy fall season of fiber festivals and alpaca shows. This coming weekend, Astraios will be going to the Northeast Alpaca Expo, then on to this new home at Laure-Lin Alpacas in Syracuse, NY. Both Ron and I are realizing how much we are going to miss this big boy! Both Astraios and his older brother,…
It’s over! And with the help of very good friends, shearing not only was not painful, it was actually fun! Many, many thanks to Larry from Twilight Ridge Farm, Jane from Berry Hill Alpacas and, last but not least, Kathy and Tracey from Foggy Bottom Ranch who went above and beyond to help us. For…
