We always make a point of reviewing our herd of alpacas around the first of the year with an eye towards spring alpaca shows, the upcoming birthing and breeding season and updating our sales list. It’s exciting to see last year’s crias now growing into beautiful and healthy young alpacas ready for weaning…and maybe showing.
This year we are going to try to offer at least one alpaca at a special price every month. For January, we’re featuring Snowshoe Pleione. This beautiful white female is due to have her first cria in June. She is bred to Starry’s Rastaban, a fawn herdsire who is producing some very nice offspring for us. Pleione is currently listed for sale at $5000, but we will take $1000 off her price for the month of January. Pleione’s price includes a free TRANSFERABLE breeding. This means you can use the breeding for another of your females, if you wish.
Pleione is a daughter of our multi-champion herdsire, Snowshoe Aristides (now owned by Little Creek Farm). Aristides has maintained his fine fiber as he’s aged and we’re seeing this trait for lasting fineness in many of his offspring.
We’re very excited about Pleione’s cria, but we do have a number of females related to Pleione in our herd, thus our willingness to offer her at a lower price.
